A clever engineer might conceive some kind of machining set-up that could accurately cut the different lines, curves, and angles on both the neck and body to create the perfect joint. But unfortunately that person isn’t me!
Though I have a jig to help make these preliminary cuts on the band saw, I’m much more comfortable doing so by hand, using a hacksaw and coping saw. The additional time is minimal, and the results are comparable or better, with much less risk of miss-cutting.
